Picked-up the rear stub shafts and drive flanges from Jim Waller Wednesday, and beautiful machining, thanks Jim. The LH and RH BBS nuts fit like gloves. And the location annulus that locates into the rim fits very snuggly, we will dress that very slightly once the splines have been added, to get a perfect fit.

Regards the splines, first step is to get the spline areas hardened. We did consider hardening the complete stub shafts as EN24T and that can be hardened throughout but requires (if I recall correctly) an oven temp of around 800C and then an oil quench. But the concern was distortion, as the centre has been machined away (as per the originals) to reduce weight. So we will induction harden the local spline areas, and then the splines will be spark eroded with purpose made electrodes at Microtec EDM. 

Splines are making progress and should be completed this week. I popped into Microtec Friday and they have sparked the drive flanges, see 1st and 2nd photos. And popped in again Monday evening, and Graham had the first stub axle mounted to be sparked tonight. The photos of both the drive flange and stub shafts shows 2 electrodes, the first is for roughing and sparks to 0.2mm, and the second electrode is the finisher, and tunes the fit to 0.1mm. Also dropped into Jim Waller Saturday morning and they have started on the bearing lock plates and will start on the front stub axles this week. 

Collected the completed splines Friday, and a perfect fit. Many thanks to the Microtec EDM team. Dropped the shafts (and a rear rim) back to Jim Waller in Southend Saturday. Jim is going to polish the shafts, and also machining the drive pegs (5 per stub axle) and we will do a trial fit of the stub + drive pegs into the rim later this week. Fingers crossed! Jim is also machining the front stub axles, which should be completed next week.
