The rear brakes were far more of a challenge, as for the IVA we need a handbrake, so I had to package the biggest caliper with a handbrake spot caliper whilst maintaining 10mm clearance to the mag rim for the handbrake linkage. All within the 15" rims.

And again with the help of Geoff and Alex at HiSpec, who loaned me various different calipers, one with the integrated handbrakes (as per the Radical package) but couldn't package the linkage. Then they loaned me the a RX114 + Spot 28 on the extended back bone, which looked possible. So Geoff finalised the CAD model and I set about packaging it. We have ended up with spot at the bottom, and the cable exiting in the gap between the antiroll bar mount and upright.

The other challenge was the fact that I had already designed uprights to replicate the originals, which accept lug mounted calipers. So I had to design lug to radial adaptors, and the bells are also bespoke, but again to look like the originals.

And John has located a supplier for the original lug mounted calipers, so we can also fit these for the pure track car. So the aim of having both a road and track options for the original concept of uprights has been achieved. And adaptors and bells have all been manufactured by HiSpec.
